Valentine's Day Driving

Today we left Bozeman and headed north for Kalispell, MT. Kalispell is about 30 miles west of Glacier National Park. The area has quite a few large glacial lakes...both Flathead & Whitefish Lakes are both frozen solid at the moment, but there seems to be a good number of boaters & fishermen around this place. We never thought we'd be this far north so early in our trip, but the weather has been terrific for both driving & skiing/boarding. Although on the drive from Bozeman we actually drove through several snow showers & fog so for the first time no pictures from the actual drive...well except for one.

As we stopped for gas in Missoula, MT we noticed this sign...click to enlarge

After arriving in Kalispell we drove around a bit to see where we could go for a Valentine's dinner...ended up at Mackenzie River Pizza. Must say that the pizza was excellent as was the beer...Driftboat Amber. Cindi even got a rose from the visit...good thing since I had not gotten any flowers for her. We'll have to visit again before we leave since for some reason pizza & skiing go very well together.
